Pastor Michael E. Edwards was wonderfully saved in 1975. In the same year God called Brother Edwards into full time ministry and he and his family moved from Cincinnati, Ohio to Springfield, Missouri to prepare for the Lord's work. Upon graduation the Edwards' moved to Pittsburg, PA where Brother Edwards served as Youth Pastor for four years at the Allegheny Baptist Temple. In June of 1981, at God's direction, Brother Edwards and family moved to the metro area of Washington D.C. and founded the Heritage Baptist Church. The Church has grown to an average attendance of 800 and a Christian school with over 300 students. Brother and Mrs. Edwards have been blessed with three children, Melissa, Chris, and Joshua whom all serve the Lord.
